Episode 9, #GetChatty Podcast Series 2025
Let’s Talk About X is a certified social enterprise founded by two experienced educators who are dedicated to preventing harassment and discrimination and creating safe environments for everyone. The design training that helps organisations foster a culture of consent and LGBTIQA+ inclusion, driving lasting cultural change.
In the second part of my interview with El, co-founder and Managing Director of Let’s Talk About X, we discuss LGBT+ identity and self-identification in the workplace, their workshops, and they also flipped the table by asking me about B2B marketing. I enjoy doing these episodes and I hope you’ll too.
I had the fortune of working in various industries, and I noticed that some places do not acknowledge difficult conversations, which is problematic. To me, it’s equally problematic when an organisation or business uses the concept of cohesiveness or harmony to avoid conversations about diversity and inclusion.

It’s not difficult to acknowledge someone’s self-identification; something as simple as referencing their pronouns doesn’t cost you much, but you can make someone else’s day!
From a small business perspective, a little time and investment can create a safe space for people working with/for you and your clients, making them feel not only physically present but also invested and engaged, that’s retention along the value chain.
No matter if it is a small business, a side hustle, a creative project or something independent, it’s about forging our own path while being ourselves, you don’t have to be a purpose-driven business to have a purpose, but learning to talk about inclusivity, taking initiative and be open to change, sometime we can make a mistake, acknowledge it and know that you’ll be better next time.
Please check out part one of this episode. A huge thank you to El for taking part in this supersized interview!
