Episode 6, #GetChatty Podcast Series 2025

In this series so far, there have been a few mentions about taking risks and balancing responsible and informed decision-making, and I cannot position this episode about agile, part 2 of my interview with Elliot Dowling any better.

We talked further into the practical aspects of agile development – not just in large organisations, but also for entrepreneurs, small teams, and individuals working solo.

We touched on something very interesting when it comes to the misconception of agile, it’s not about doing whatever you want whenever you want; it’s about having a process that allows everyone to be on the same page with the minimum required. Eillot explained better.

Thank you, Elliot, for taking the time to guest in both parts of the podcast (and we get to discover the fun side of Elliot as I drag us into chaos in this episode).
I want to share a quick top 3 summary with you:

  • Agile is about making informed, flexible decisions with just enough structure. If you’re starting or exploring something new, you can greatly benefit from putting something small out, listening to feedback, documenting wisely, and remaining open to change.
  • Most opportunities come through relationships, not CVs. Building genuine connections can open unexpected doors and lead to collaborations that shape your business journey.
  • If you’re a small business, being agile can be your core mindset that guides your way even when you launch before you perfect, which we established earlier in this series; perfection can be the enemy of progress, and this mindset can be the circuit breaker that frees you from hesitating and asking yourself what if in the future.
