Episode 2, #GetChatty Podcast Series 2025
In this episode, I sat down with Christina, founder of Chandler Educational Consulting, to talk about how her independent consultancy helps students from the US and Latin America navigate their journey to Australia or vice versa.
As of writing (2025), many LGBT+ communities are in challenging situations, and Australia may be a good option! To clarify, this is NOT about immigration but about building life experience and finding yourself while you’re not tied down, and if you’re an LGBT+ person wanting to explore options like studying in Australia for a few years, it’s always good to work with professionals that are also allied like Christina.
This is a fascinating discussion because there are not many independent consultants in Australia, and they are in this neutral space that is about working with the students and adding value to higherED organisations. She describes it better; here’s the episode!

There’s so much people can learn from Christina, yep, even for small businesses; here’s my top 3 this time:
- Your expertise and passion can be the foundation of a meaningful business. Christina sees a neutral space between many stakeholders, which can be a safe market positioning for a new venture.
- Transparency can come in different forms, and hers is about offering value upfront, which works well for her because she’s a direct person, which is a great match – so build your personal brand that matches you!
- At the start of the business, one should focus on niche sets of target markets and build from there. Try your best to avoid saying, “I want everyone from the get-go”.
We may not all know younger people of LGBT+ communities and their families, but it’s possible that someone you know may be beneficial to well-informed people like Christina. Meanwhile, pls keep forging your own paths proudly.
